Physical Layer Impairments in a MLR Network

Abstract : In a context of a Mixed-Line Rate (MLR) network, to conserve the ligthpath in the optical domain and consider the multi-rate cross non-linearity, the knowledge of the physical layer impairments and optical functionalities’ non-idealities are needed to be studied for smooth upgrade of the network with the aim to integrating their model in a software abstraction of a cross layer network.
