Statistical models for antennas

Abstract

This paper addresses the pros & cons for developing statistical models intended to provide a representative description of antenna behavior in their use context. The analysis is made both from the point of view of the relevance and that of the difficulties in developing such models. Statistical antenna modeling is applied to a few cases in the field of wireless communications, addressing the statistical variations of the antennas themselves, of their immediate environment and of the local propagation context.
